REG 24 OCT 81,
I have the honour to beg Your Lordship's permission to withdraw my letter of the 27th July last with reference to His Excellency's prosecution for Assault on Henry.
Since the letter was written under the influence of feelings, arising from a scandalous and entirely untrue version of the affair, which had reached me, and with a view to, and of putting a stop to, injurious and suspicious statements, which were being made about my conduct. To a great extent I have now been misinformed.
